You like something, you want the whole world to know about it.. well, at least I do.
I've been filling the ears of everyone I know with information about silent films for the past few months, they are pretty damn sick of it but I don't care.
Besides watching dem films I also love some of the stars more than anything on earth and I've got the habit of collecting cards that represent them. I've put a lot of money into books and cards recently but I don't regret it at all.
Silent films have saved my life, I honestly don't think I'd be here at this moment if it wasn't for all these films that I've talked about in this blog. This spring has been rough on me and I've come close to quitting a few times.
So here's a tiny celebration of some of my favorites, in the form of postcards that I've managed to collect.
Check the photos, after the jump!
My latest and dearest Jack Pickford card. It arrived this morning.
Look at that mustache !
Damn.

I think this one might be a reproduction because it's way too pristine to be vintage. I paid less than five dollars for it (postage included) so it's OK even if it ain't the real deal.
Moving on to my fave rave, Master Veidt.
I collect old frames and have framed most of my cards, especially the Conrad ones.
This is the one I love the most, I mean, look at those eyes, the confidence. He was beyond anyone.
This one has a cute forged signature that says "Conradt Veidt" and on the others side "Konräds Veidt". I wish I could have all the other cards from this particular Ross set.
My first silent film star card, bought a year ago, back when I didn't know much about the whole thing
I'm dying to see Martin Herzberg films. He was such a gorgeous being.
He appeared in Paganini with Conrad, but sadly the film is lost.

Hi!
I found your amazing blog while I was looking for pictures of Conrad Veidt via google.
Just wanted to say that I love your little silent film diary and all the magnificent screen caps of yours.
It's always nice to meet a fellow fan of Conrad & silent movies. ^^
Thanks to you and your blog I discovered many new movies and developed new crushes on some of the stars. ^^
(sorry for my terrible English, it's only my second language.)
Love,
Jools

Hello sweet Jules!
Your english is as good as mine - it happens to be my second language too.
I'm glad I've been able to help you find new movies to watch. I briefly checked out your blogs (The Veidt shrine as well as your personal blog) and they seem like visual feasts of the best kind.
All the best,
Kid V.
